What a bummer!

I picked Lena up from school yesterday and we headed to the post office to pick up our certified mail from the USCIS. I was so excited to get it and go get our fingerprinting done.

Well, wouldn't you know that they were returning our application b/c I sent a personal check instead of a money order? The official application form issued by our own US gov't says that a personal check is okay. But I have heard that each office does things their own way and I guess the Houston office just doesn't want to deal with personal checks. UUGGHH!

So today during lunch I'll be going to get a cashier's check and the I-600A will go back again to the USCIS for processing. Hopefully this won't cause much delay.

Just another joy of the adoption paper chase... :)

I can't believe it! These offices are so picky. We had to send a money order as well - what a pain! I don't think it will cause more than a few days delay. :)
